★Ingredients
1 cup fresh or frozen blueberries
1 loaf of French bread (about 16 oz), cut into 1-inch cubes
6 large eggs
8 oz cream cheese, softened and cut into small cubes
½ cup heavy cream
1 ½ cups whole milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
½ cup granulated sugar
¼ teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Powdered sugar (optional, for dusting)
¼ cup maple syrup (optional, for drizzling)
★Instructions
Prepare the baking dish* Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with butter or cooking spray.
Assemble the layers* Spread half of the cubed bread in the dish. Add the cream cheese cubes and blueberries over the top, followed by the remaining bread cubes.
Whisk the custard* In a bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, heavy cream, sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and salt until well combined.
Pour the mixture* Pour the egg mixture evenly over the bread, pressing down the bread gently to ensure it soaks up the liquid.
Chill* Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or preferably overnight.
Bake* Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake the dish uncovered for 45-50 minutes until the top is golden and the center is set.
Serve* Let it cool slightly, then drizzle with maple syrup and dust with powdered sugar if desired.
Enjoy!!
