1.5 cups butter
8-oz lasagna noodles
1/2 tsp salt
8-oz tub softened cream cheese
1/4 tsp ground black pepper
1/2 tsp pepper powder
1/4 cup hot milk
1 3/4 cups shredded Swiss cheese
2 3/4 cups cooked chicken
8 oz diced deli ham
1/3 cup breadcrumbs
1/2 tsp Italian seasoning (adjust to taste)
1/2 cup shredded Swiss cheese (for topping)
★Instructions
Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
Cook lasagna noodles in salted boiling water for about 8 minutes, until al dente, then drain.
Make the sauce* In a saucepan, melt butter and whisk in cream cheese until melted. Season with salt, pepper powder, and black pepper. Gradually add warm milk and whisk until smooth. Add 1 1/2 cups Swiss cheese and whisk until the sauce thickens (about 5-10 minutes).
Assemble* Pour 3/4 cup of sauce in a 9×9-inch baking dish. Layer noodles, chicken, ham, and sauce. Repeat layers, ending with a final layer of noodles, sauce, Swiss cheese, breadcrumbs, and Italian seasoning.
Bake* Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Uncover and bake for another 10 minutes to brown the top. Let it rest for 5-10 minutes before serving.
