★Ingredients
For the Carne Asada*
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 lb (450g) flank or skirt steak
1/4 cup fresh orange juice
1/4 cup fresh lime juice
2 tbsp olive oil
1 tsp chili powder
1 tsp ground cumin
Salt and pepper to taste
For the Burrito Filling*
1/2 cup guacamole
1 cup fresh salsa (pico de gallo)
1/2 cup shredded cheese (optional)
1/2 cup sour cream (optional)
4 large flour tortillas
★Instructions
Prepare the Carne Asada Marinade*
In a bowl, whisk together the garlic, lime juice, orange juice, olive oil, cumin, chili powder, salt, and pepper. Place the steak in a resealable bag and pour the marinade over it. Seal the bag, ensuring the steak is fully coated. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight for best flavor.
Cook the Carne Asada*
Preheat your grill or a cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat. Remove the steak from the marinade and cook for about 5-7 minutes on each side, depending on your desired level of doneness. Once done, let the steak rest for a few minutes, then chop it into bite-sized pieces.
Warm the Tortillas*
Heat each tortilla on a dry skillet or directly on the grill for a few seconds until soft and slightly browned.
Assemble the Burritos*
Place a generous amount of carne asada in the center of each tortilla. Top with pico de gallo, guacamole, shredded cheese, and sour cream if desired.
Fold the Burrito*
Fold in the sides of the tortilla, then roll it up tightly from bottom to top.
Grill the Burrito (Optional)*
For a crispy exterior, place the burrito on a hot skillet or grill for 1-2 minutes on each side.
Serve and Enjoy*
Serve warm with a side of salsa, hot sauce, or a refreshing drink.
Enjoy!
