★Ingredients
1 cup granulated sugar, divided
1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
1 large lemon, zested and juiced
1 can (8 oz) refrigerated crescent dough sheet
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
2 tbsp melted butter
2 tbsp all-purpose flour
Powdered sugar (for dusting)
★Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease an 8×8-inch baking dish.
Unroll the crescent dough and press half into the bottom of the baking dish to form a crust. Pinch any seams together.
In a mixing bowl, beat together the cream cheese, 1/2 cup of sugar, lemon zest, lemon juice, flour, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.
Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the dough in the baking dish.
Lay the remaining crescent dough over the top of the cream cheese layer, pressing gently.
Brush the melted butter on top of the dough and sprinkle the remaining 1/2 cup of sugar evenly over it.
Bake for 25-30 minutes or until the top is golden brown.
Let the bars cool completely, then refrigerate for at least an hour to set.
Once chilled, dust with powdered sugar and cut into squares.
Enjoy!
