Biscuits swimming in butter

★Ingredients

2 ½ cups all-purpose flour

1 tablespoon baking powder

1 tablespoon sugar

1 ¾ cups buttermilk (or regular milk with 1 tablespoon vinegar/lemon juice)

1 ½ teaspoons salt

½ cup unsalted butter (1 stick), melted

★Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 450°F (232°C).
  2. Prepare Baking Dish: Melt the butter in a 9×13-inch glass baking dish. You can place the dish in the oven for a couple of minutes to melt the butter completely, then remove it from the oven.
  3. Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large bowl, mix together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  4. Add Buttermilk: Pour the buttermilk into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. The dough will be sticky, and that’s okay.
  5. Shape the Biscuits: Drop large spoonfuls of dough into the melted butter in the baking dish, making individual biscuit shapes.
  6. Bake: Bake the biscuits for about 20-25 minutes, or until the tops are golden brown.
  7. Serve: Once baked, the biscuits should be fluffy inside with buttery, crispy edges. Serve warm!

Enjoy!
