★Ingredients
Dried sage, rosemary, or other herbs (lavender, cedar, etc.)
Cotton string or twine
★Instructions
- Gather fresh herbs, ensuring they are aromatic and suitable for burning.
- Let the herbs dry for a few days until fully dry but not brittle.
- Bundle the herbs tightly together, ensuring the leaves are compact.
- Use cotton string to tie the bundle securely, wrapping from top to bottom and back again.
- Hang the bundle in a dry, dark place to dry completely for about 2-3 weeks.
- Once fully dried, the bundle is ready to burn. Light one end and allow it to smolder, using the smoke for cleansing purposes.
For the small version seen in the left-hand side of the image, you can place dried herbs in a metal container (like a tealight holder), light it, and let it burn out naturally to release the aroma.
Always remember to practice fire safety when burning herbs.
