★Ingredients
For the Meatballs:
1 pound (450 grams) ground beef or a combination of beef and pork
1/2 cup breadcrumbs (preferably seasoned)
1/4 cup finely chopped onion
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon salt
1 large egg
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)
For the Sauce:
1/2 cup sweet chili sauce
1/4 cup honey
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1 teaspoon sriracha sauce (adjust to taste)
1 tablespoon rice vinegar (or apple cider vinegar)
Sesame seeds and chopped green onions for garnish (optional)
★Instructions
- Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Make the Meatballs:
In a large bowl, combine the ground meat, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, chopped onion, minced garlic, egg, salt, black pepper, oregano, and crushed red pepper flakes.
Mix until just combined; avoid overmixing.
Shape the mixture into 1-inch meatballs and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Bake the Meatballs:
Bake the meatballs in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until cooked through and browned.
- Prepare the Sauce:
In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine the sweet chili sauce, honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar, and sriracha. Stir until well combined and heated through, about 3-5 minutes.
- Glaze the Meatballs:
Once the meatballs are done baking, remove them from the oven and drizzle the sauce over the meatballs, tossing to coat evenly.
- Serve:
Transfer the meatballs to a serving dish and garnish with sesame seeds and chopped green onions if desired. Serve warm.
Enjoy!
