  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 can condensed cream of mushroom soup
  • 2 cups beef broth

★Instructions

  • Prepare the Meat Mixture*

  • Cook the Patties*
  • Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Add a little oil or butter to the skillet.
  • Brown the patties on both sides until they have a nice crust, about 3-4 minutes per side. You may need to do this in batches.
  • Transfer the browned patties to a baking dish.
  • Make the Gravy*
  • In a medium bowl, whisk together the beef broth and condensed cream of mushroom soup until smooth.
  • Pour the gravy mixture over the patties in the baking dish.
  • Bake*
  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake for 1 hour, or until the patties are cooked through and the gravy is bubbly.

Serving Suggestions*

  • Serve the Amish Poor Man’s Steak with buttery corn and creamy mashed potatoes.
  • Add roasted veggies, green beans, or a crisp green salad for a well-rounded meal.

Enjoy!
