Cookies and cream cake

★Ingredients

For the Cake*

  • 1 box of white cake mix (plus ingredients listed on the box)
  • 1 cup crushed Oreo cookies (about 10-12 cookies)

For the Frosting*

  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, at room temperature
  • 4 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 cup crushed Oreo cookies (about 10-12 cookies)

For Decoration*

  • Whole Oreo cookies (optional)

Instructions

  • Preheat and Prepare Pans*
  • Preheat your oven according to the cake mix instructions.
  • Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans or line them with parchment paper.
  • Make the Cake*
  • Prepare the white cake mix according to the package instructions.
  • Gently fold in the 1 cup of crushed Oreo cookies.
  • Divide the batter evenly between the prepared pans.
  • Bake according to the package instructions, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Let the cakes cool in the pans for about 10 minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.
  • Make the Frosting*
  • In a large bowl, beat the butter until creamy.
  • Gradually add the powdered sugar, one cup at a time, beating well after each addition.
  • Add the heavy cream and vanilla extract, and beat until the frosting is light and fluffy.
  • Fold in the 1 cup of crushed Oreo cookies.
  • Assemble the Cake*
  • Place one cake layer on a serving plate or cake stand.
  • Spread a layer of frosting on top.
  • Place the second cake layer on top of the first.
  • Frost the top and sides of the cake with the remaining frosting.
  • Decorate*
  • If desired, decorate the cake with whole Oreo cookies on top.
  • You can also sprinkle some additional crushed Oreo cookies over the top and sides of the cake.
