Delicious peach cobbler


¾ cup granulated sugar

4 cups of fresh or canned peaches (peeled and sliced, if using fresh)

1 teaspoon lemon juice

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg

For the Batter

1 cup granulated sugar

1 cup all-purpose flour

1 tablespoon baking powder

¼ teaspoon salt

½ cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted

1 cup milk


If using fresh peaches, peel and slice them. If using canned peaches, drain them well.

In a large bowl, combine the peaches, ¾ cup of sugar, lemon juice, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Mix well and set asi

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, 1 cup of sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  • Add the milk and melted butter to the dry ingredients. Stir until just combined; do not overmix.

Pour the batter into a 9×13-inch baking dish or a similar-sized baking dish.

Spoon the peach mixture evenly over the batter. Do not stir; the batter will rise up over the peaches during baking.
