French onion chicken bread

★Ingredients

2 1/2 kg chicken breast (about 5.5 lbs)

1/4 cup mayonnaise

1 large onion (thinly sliced)

2 cloves garlic (minced)

1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or your favorite)

1 cup French fried onions

1 loaf French bread (sliced lengthwise)

1 tbsp olive oil

1/2 tsp salt

1/2 tsp black pepper

1/2 tsp paprika

1/2 tsp dried thyme

1/4 cup fresh parsley (chopped, for garnish)

★Instructions

  • Preheat the Oven*
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Prepare the Chicken*
  • Season the chicken breasts with salt, black pepper, paprika, and dried thyme.
  • Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Cook the chicken breasts for 6-7 minutes on each side, or until fully cooked and golden brown.
  • Remove the chicken from the skillet and let it cool slightly, then shred the chicken using two forks.
  • Prepare the Onion Mixture*
  • In the same skillet, add the sliced onion and minced garlic.
  • Sauté until the onions are caramelized and golden brown, about 10-15 minutes. Stir occasionally to avoid burning.
  • Assemble the Chicken Bread*
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the shredded chicken, mayonnaise, and caramelized onions. Mix well.
  • Spread the chicken mixture evenly over the bottom half of the French bread.
  • Sprinkle the shredded cheese over the chicken mixture.
  • Top with the French fried onions for added crunch and flavor.
  • Bake*
  • Place the assembled bread on a baking sheet.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Enjoy!
