Crispy potato slices with creamy cheese sauce

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

4 large potatoes, washed and cut into fries

1/2 cup heavy cream

Salt and pepper to taste

2 tablespoons butter

Optional toppings: chopped green onions, cooked bacon bits, jalapenos

Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).

Place the cut potatoes on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle with salt and pepper. Toss to coat evenly.

Bake the fries in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until crispy and golden brown.

While the fries are baking, prepare the cheese sauce. In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the heavy cream and bring to a simmer.

Reduce the heat to low and gradually stir in the shredded cheddar cheese until melted and smooth. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Once the fries are done baking, transfer them to a serving platter or individual plates.

Pour the creamy cheese sauce over the fries, and if desired, sprinkle with chopped green onions, cooked bacon bits, or jalapen
